A warm welcome to our school.
The school is situated close to Durham city providing education for children from a rich variety of backgrounds. We provide a welcoming and safe learning environment in which the talents of all children and staff are recognised and developed to the full.
Our children enjoy the learning process and are guided by caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated staff.
‘Pupils and their parents value the ‘family’ atmosphere within the school’
(Ofsted March 2016)
Our aim is to give each child every opportunity to achieve the highest possible standards. We encourage a ‘can do’ attitude and ensure that each child strives to achieve their personal best. The school is calm, ordered and very well resourced. We are united by a shared mission and a clear vision for future development.
To help us achieve our aims staff, governors and parents work in close partnership together with additional support from the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle and the local parish church of St. Joseph’s in the parish of the Durham Martyrs. As a Roman Catholic school, our ethos is embedded in Christian values which underpin all areas of school life.
Success and friendship are celebrated through a calendar of shared events which include curriculum information evenings, Masses and liturgies, performances, productions, sporting events, and more.
These and many more occasions enable the children to develop confidence and share their accomplishments with the community. Throughout the year families are invited to join us.
If you need any more information or would like to make an appointment to speak with us, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
