The staff at St Thomas More would like to extend a very warm welcome back to school, to all our families and children. We hope that you had a fantastic Christmas and New Year and look forward to catching up with you all throughout the term. Newsletters etc. will be sent home on Friday with the children. If you require any information before this time – please call the school office and we will be happy to help.
We’re looking forward to seeing all of the children at school on Monday next week. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break and wish all of our families all the best for the forthcoming year. May it be both happy and peaceful!
Thank you to all the parents, grand-parents and great grandparents who joined us for our ‘Carols around the Crib’ service this morning. The children were all wonderful – soloists and group singers alike – they did a great job! There were even a few parents singing too! It was a wonderful way to end the year. Thank you for all your support over the past term – it means a great deal to all of the staff and children. Have a wonderful, peaceful Christmas and we will see you all in the new year.
Where changes to admission arrangements are intended, all schools are required to consult before these are determined and published.
A copy of this policy and the consultation response form can be found on our school website in our policies section, or alternatively copies can be requested from the school office. The governing body will consider all comments received before they determine the arrangements for 2019-20.

Children may wear a hoodie with their normal uniform on Friday 24th November. This is to support the Diocesan Youth Ministry Team and all the work they do both in and for our school communities. To support the wonderful work they do – children may wear their own hoodie, cardigan or a jumper (along with their normal uniform!) and bring a donation of £1 (per child). All monies raised will go directly to the Youth Mission Team.
Thank you to all parents, grandparents and friends of St Thomas More for attending our ‘Welcome Liturgy’ led by our Reception and Year 6 pupils. What a wonderful way to start the new academic year – the singing from reception class was particularly good – I’m sure you’ll agree. The Reception children have certainly become part of our school family very quickly. It was lovely to spend some time with new parents over a cup of tea and as a staff, we hope you will continue to support us throughout the year as you always do. We look forward to seeing you again at future, shared celebrations.
We warmly welcome everyone to the Friends of St Thomas More meeting on Thurday 14th September, 3:15pm in school, to discuss much needed fundraising events.
Wednesday 4th October 9.30am – 11.30am
We invite prospective pupils and their families to our Open Morning. You will have the opportunity to meet staff, tour the school and experience what happens during a typical morning in our school. Senior staff will be available to answer queries.
Children born between 1st September 2013 and 31st August 2014 will be eligible to start in reception year in September 2018.
We hope you have all had a wonderful break over the holidays and are looking forward to seeing the children on Tuesday 5th September when school re-opens for teaching purposes.
